Who is she, the Saga Melina?

It never began with an idea. It started with a sad story that ended good. The plan wasn’t to turn a hobby into something more to share with the world or maybe even to launch a business.
The brand SAGA MELINA was found by Saga-Melina Gevargez who used to work for United Nations Sweden. One day when she was on her way to work she hit her head in a traffic accident. The damages on the brain took her good memory and gave her memory loss. So she could not continue work in the way she had previously done, but instead she became more creative than before.
During the time of her rehabilitation she began training silversmith and jewellery design in over 2 years. With a great passion for creating contemporary jewellery she began later to custom make jewellery and sold through social media. This was the beginning of the brand SAGA MELINA.

SAGA MELINA has been featured in ELLE, Plaza Kvinna, Harper’s Bazaar, Damernas Värld and many other magazines.

SAGA MELINA jewellery has been seen at Nobel Prize, Stockholm Fashion Week, many different music stages and tv-shows like Guldbagge gala, Idol, Melodifestivalen, Swedish Talent and many more.

SAGA MELINA is a young Swedish brand. The jewellery stands for quality and design with great craftsmanship and functionality. The mix of clean lines as well as simple shapes are combined into a dramatic whole. From smaller, precious pieces to expressive statement jewellery.

Each piece of jewellery is created to breathe confidence and promote an individual style.

Every SAGA MELINA piece has a history — from the relationship with the artisan, to the life of the wearer. We design each of our collections with the intention of creating pieces that can be passed down through generations. Our jewellery is all made by local artisans based in Sweden, with expertise in traditional methods of crafting jewellery by hand. That’s something we are very transparent about as we believe it's important for people to know where their jewellery is coming from.

We lead a business that is ethical and caring, socially and environmentally responsible, diverse and inclusive.
Our success is not only due to the quality of our work, it’s down to attitude, our approach and the way we treat our clients. We love to design, create and produce what we’re proud of.

All our customers are welcome to visit us while we are in the making of handcrafting in our studio, a place where you can also look, try and buy from our jewellery collections.

Due to previous experience with occupational injuries that can occur when working as a goldsmith, we have together with the Work environment and Medicine unit at the hospital developed a NON-TOXIC studio. As one of the few studios in Sweden. We do not use any toxic chemicals and have a specially designed ventilation system to prevent different particles, like from the gold and silver from remaining in our workplace. This means that anyone can stay at our workplace, regardless of any sensitivities you have, for example like asthma.

Do you have an idea of jewellery that you would like to wear or give away as a gift? We do a lot of custom made work and we would love to help you make your idea become reality.

We also offer silversmith courses in our studio where you can produce your own accessories or give away an experience as gift.
